Three more segments on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail to open Thursday

Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT) today announced that three more segments of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (LVRT) – Danville to Hardwick, Wolcott Village to Morrisville, and Cambridge to Sheldon — will be open for public use on December 15th.

“The AOT project team and our partners have worked especially hard in the past year to expedite the construction of the trail,” said Transportation Secretary Joe Flynn. “We look forward to the final completion of the trail in February, followed by a grand opening event this spring.”

The final remaining segment, Hardwick to Wolcott Village, is expected to be completed February 1st, 2023. Until then, that segment remains closed to public use while active construction is still underway. AOT is working with the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers (VAST) on potential detours and other ways to mitigate impacts associated with the continued construction work on this trail segment.
