Vermont Foodbank receives $10,000 grant from Dunkin’ foundation

Vermont Business Magazine The Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation recently awarded a $10,000 grant to the Vermont Foodbank. The foodbank was one of 10 hunger-relief organizations around the country to receive a special grant on Giving Tuesday.

Local Dunkin’ Franchisee Damartin Quadros visited the foodbank to present a ceremonial grant check to Vermont Foodbank CEO John Sayles and several volunteers. On Giving Tuesday the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation awarded $100,000 in grants as part of a partnership with national hunger-relief organization Feeding America.

The foundation also committed to match up to $1 million in donations to Feeding America from Nov. 28-30. Since 2015, the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation has granted nearly $10 million to more than 1,200 hunger-relief organizations. The Vermont Foodbank is the state’s largest hunger-relief organization, providing about 12 million pounds of food annually to people throughout Vermont through a network of more than 300 community partners.
