Updates made to the COVID 19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan Sept. 8 increased the potential loan amount for new applicants and existing COVID 19 EIDL borrowers and made modifications that make it an even more attractive option to provide much needed relief to small businesses during these continuing stressful times.

Contracting Matchmaker Oct 15

The Massachusetts 2021 Virtual Contracting Matchmaker is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 15. Businesses will have the unique opportunity to meet virtually with government agency buyers and representatives, as well as large prime contractors.

Each business that registers will have the chance to request one-on-one meetings with agencies and primes based on percentage match fits, calculated by sophisticated matchmaking software.

In between scheduled meetings with buyers and representatives, attend one of the many webinars happening back-to-back throughout the day, presented by Government and Prime procurement experts.

Boots To Business Nov 3-4

The Small Business Administration is hosting a two-day webinar from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 to 4 for Veterans wanting to learn about the fundamentals of starting a small business.

Boots to Business is a free SBA training program for transitioning service members, veterans and family members to assist understanding the steps, stages and activities related to launching and growing a business as a post-military career.

WEOC Registration Open

Registration is open for Vermont’s 24th Annual Women’s Economic Opportunity Conference which is scheduled for Oct. 23. This year’s virtual conference will run from 9 to 11 a.m.

Each year this highly anticipated event brings together hundreds of Vermont women for presentations on how to navigate workplaces, grow businesses and succeed in a modern economy.

Xusana Davis, the State of Vermont’s first Executive Director of Racial Equity, will deliver the keynote address.

In addition to Davis' compelling keynote message, the morning event will feature a panel discussion, Evolving in a World of Change: Best Practices for a Business Refocus. This session will be led by three Vermont women who will share personal stories of how they adapted their businesses, or even changed direction, to meet the challenges of the pandemic. The panelists include Abby Lechthaler of The Downtown Grocery in Ludlow; Akshata Nayak, founder of Little Patakha and owner of Alternative Roots Wellness; and Julia Birnn Fields, president of Birnn Chocolates of Vermont.

October is Manufacturing Month
