Vermont Business Magazine Norwich University’s Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science degree program has earned approval through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Education Recognition Program (ERP), which is valid for three years.

The program, which is housed in the Department of Health and Human Performance, offers education in exercise science with specific tracks in strength and conditioning for sports and tactical athletes as well as pre-clinical preparation. Other programs in the department include health science, physical education and a Master of Athletic Training program launching in fall 2022.

The recognition letter states: “A successful career in strength and conditioning or personal training begins with a quality classroom education that is backed by the NSCA seal of approval. This includes the right certifications, professional development, and networking that can only be found through the NSCA.”

This membership includes new resources for Norwich, including advertising its program and future jobs in NSCA materials and at their national meeting, as well as opportunities for students including exclusive scholarship opportunities and certification discounts.

“This is a great honor and an acknowledgement that Norwich programs are world class,” Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics Dr. Michael B. McGinnis said. “This also benefits our students, creating access to national level certifications accepted worldwide.”

Norwich University is a diversified academic institution that educates traditional-age students and adults in a Corps of Cadets and as civilians. Norwich offers a broad selection of traditional and distance-learning programs culminating in baccalaureate and graduate degrees. Norwich University was founded in 1819 by Captain Alden Partridge of the U.S. Army and is the oldest private military college in the United States of America. Norwich is one of our nation's six senior military colleges and the birthplace of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC).
