Vermont Business Magazine Three times each year, New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) conducts its Shred Fest events to help prevent identity theft by destroying documents with sensitive personal information. All Shred Fests are free and open to the public. Document destruction services are provided by SecurShred, a local company specializing in secure information management solutions. Participants can watch on a video monitor as their documents are shredded.
The Spring, 2021 NEFCU Shred Fest, held on Saturday, May 8, shredded 40,000 pounds—20 tons—of documents.
“We were pleased to bring NEFCU’s Shred Fest event once again to our local community,” stated Bill Smith, Chief Marketing & Retail Officer. “Our members and staff look forward to Shred Fest™ every year and the volumes of paper processed during the first Shred Fest™ of 2021 showcased the high level of interest and participation."
