Gathering and Restaurant Guidance Updates

Governor Phil Scott on Friday announced updates to COVID-19 guidance for small, multi-household gatherings and table seating at restaurants. Effective March 12, the changes allow two unvaccinated households to gather at a time, and permit restaurants to seat multiple households together, but no more than six people can be seated at the same table. Masking, distancing, capacity limits, and other mitigation guidelines remain in place. Specialized PPP Webinar Announced

As the March 31st Paycheck Protection Program deadline approaches, Vermont cosmetologists, tattooists, and body piercers are encouraged to sign up for a free webinar on Friday, March 19th at 9:00am to learn how the PPP program works and how you may qualify for more funds under new formula changes for IRS Form 1040, Schedule C filers. Business owners can also learn about available technical assistance supports from Vermont’s SBA Resource Partners.

Vaccine Rollout Continues

Vermonters aged 16+ with certain high-risk health conditions can now sign up for COVID-19 vaccine appointments. High-risk health conditions include:

  • Current cancer
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • COPD, including emphysema and chronic bronchitis
  • Heart disease
  • Immunocompromised / weakened immune system
  • Severe obesity (BMI of 40 or more)
  • Pregnancy
  • Diabetes (Types 1 & 2)
  • Disabilities, including chromosomal disorders, intellectual disabilities, and disabilities that affect lung function
  • Sickle cell disease

Last Chance: Outdoor Recreation Economy Survey

The Vermont Outdoor Business Alliance has extended the deadline for responses to a survey on the current scope of Vermont’s outdoor recreation economy. The survey intends to capture the state of Vermont’s outdoor businesses and organizations by gathering benchmark data, change trends, and needs for future sector support and development in the areas of financing, workforce, infrastructure, and branding. Vermont's Outdoor Recreation Economy Benchmark Survey will be open until March 15th at 5:00pm.
