Vermont Business Magazine Today, Speaker of the House Jill Krowinski announced appointments to the Vermont Community Broadband Board, Cannabis Advisory Committee, and Vermont Citizens Advisory Committee on Lake Champlain's Future.
The speaker issued the following statement:
“Creating committees and appointing Vermonters with a diverse range of voices is key to shaping the future of our state. I am continuing the work to refine this process, and ensure we are bringing new voices to our decision-making process.
“I am excited to appoint Holly Groschner, a champion of affordable broadband, to the Vermont Community Broadband Board (VCBB). As Chair of Equal Access to Broadband, and former CEO of VT PBS, she will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the VCBB and help Vermont close our digital divide.
“We have seen other states struggle with the rules and regulations of a regulated cannabis market, and it is critical that we make our policies crafted with Vermont values in mind. We need to have a safe, healthy, and equitable cannabis marketplace, and that is why I am proud to appoint Ashley Reynolds to the Cannabis Advisory Committee. As the President and Co-Founder of Elmore Mountain Therapeutics, Ashley has advocated for greater accessibility for women entrepreneurs and stringent regulations to protect Vermont consumers. She will be an important voice for the committee, and I look forward to seeing the recommendations the committee brings forward.
“The future of our Vermont waterways is a priority for all Vermonters, and I have appointed Representative Kari Dolan to the Vermont Citizens Advisory Committee on Lake Champlain's Future. The advisory committee is tasked with aiding and recommending the effort to clean up Lake Champlain, ensuring it is a lake that is accessible and healthy for generations to come. Kari is a passionate advocate for our environment, and she will be a tremendous voice in our continued efforts to clean up our water sources.”
