Vermont Business Magazine Every year, the Vermont Agency of Agriculture offers several grant programs designed to support farm to school efforts at Vermont schools and early childhood education organizations. Applications for these programs typically open in the fall but, due to complications related to the COVID-19 pandemic, launch dates were delayed this year.
The good news: the wait is over. Over the next two months, the Agency of Agriculture will begin accepting applications for three farm to school grant programs:
1. New! Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) grant open to registered or licensed childcare providers reimburses 80% of the cost of CSA shares purchased from Vermont farms. Application Opens: 1/26
2. New! The Vision Grant open to schools and childcare organizations, as well as non-profits as co-applicants with schools or childcare organizations, is meant to support innovative ideas that have the potential to meaningfully address emergent issues within farm to school. Application Opens: Early March
3. Farm to School Child Nutrition Implementation grant provides financial and technical assistance to schools or early childcare education organizations looking to advance their farm to school programs. Application Opens: Early February
