Vermont Business Magazine Greater Burlington YMCA Interim CEO Marsha Faryniarz announced today that NorthCountry Federal Credit Union has made a generous gift of $50,000. This gift, like each made by NorthCountry over the past ten years to the YMCA, is to support youth programs. NorthCountry’s support now totals more than $950,000.

“NorthCountry continues to stand by the Y as a tremendous community partner who recognizes just how vitally important it is to provide youth a strong start in life,” said Faryniarz. “The Y and the families we serve face incredible challenges created by the pandemic. It is reassuring to know the Y’s effort to help every child realize their potential has the support of NorthCountry, their employees, and their members.”

As the Y’s Community Partner for Youth Development, NorthCountry focuses its support on ensuring that children and families, regardless of financial means, have access to high-quality early child care, engaging afterschool programs, enriching summer camp experiences, and life-saving water safety class.

“The Y is a haven for children, where they can be happy, healthy, and safe. The pandemic has created financial burdens for many families. We’re happy to support an important resource that is available regardless of a family’s ability to pay,” said Bob Morgan, NorthCountry CEO. “It’s our pleasure to sponsor some of the best childhood experiences available in Vermont.”

NorthCountry’s partnership has extended beyond the extraordinary generosity of the $950,000 in support they have provided over the past ten years, annually hosting a Y “Giving Tree” and finding other ways to support Y efforts.
