Vlacich named SBA New England regional administrator

Vermont Business Magazine Mike Vlacich was sworn in as New England Regional Administrator for the US Small Business Administration. In this position he has oversight of the six district offices located in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

“I’m honored to be appointed by the Biden-Harris Administration to serve as SBA’s New England Regional Administrator under the leadership of Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman,” said Regional Administrator Mike Vlacich. “Our small businesses play a critical role in our nation’s economy and as they continue to face unique and unexpected challenges, I’m ready to advocate for them as we continue to build a better America.”

Vlacich is a respected New Hampshire public servant with extensive economic development, policy, and constituent service experience at the nonprofit, state, and federal government levels. Prior to his appointment to the SBA, he served as a Senior Advisor to U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen, and over the years has served in other leadership roles in her U.S. Senate and Governor’s offices.

He previously served as President and CEO of the New Hampshire College and University Council, State Director for US Senator Maggie Hassan, Director of the New Hampshire Division of Economic Development, and Deputy Chief of Staff to New Hampshire Governor John Lynch.

Vlacich is responsible for the effective delivery of SBA’s programs to the 1.5 million small businesses in New England.
