
VAAFM grants available to cover organic certification costs
Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets Are you a certified organic operation? Have you incurred expenses related to certifying your operation? You may be eligible to receive partial reimbursement of those costs through the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets' Organic Certification Cost Share Program.
Certified organic operations may receive reimbursement of up to 50% of their direct certification costs paid between October 1 and September 30 annually, not to exceed $500. Funds are disbursed on a first come, first served basis.
In addition to completing an application form, applicants will need to submit a copy of their organic certification, a current W-9 and copies of itemized receipts for all eligible costs. Some examples of allowable costs include: application fees, inspection fees and travel and per diem costs for organic inspectors.
