Vermont Business Magazine On October 1 from 6:30–8:30 pm, the Local Support and Community Action Team established by Governor Phil Scott will host a virtual COVID-19 recovery discussion to connect with others in Grand Isle County. On October 8, the discussion will move to Windsor County. These two events are the last in a series of similar forums held throughout the state for residents to meet with a “visiting team” of state, federal, business, and non-profit leaders who will share recovery strategies from across the state and ideas for resources and support.

Act Today to Participate in the 2020 Census

Recent court action may provide a few extra days to complete the 2020 Census, but to be sure your household is counted, please respond by the original deadline, which is tomorrow, September 30th. Having an accurate count is key to the state’s ability to get Federal funding, and Vermont is lagging in the percentage of residents who have self-responded. We encourage you to complete your questionnaire and to ask your friends, family, and neighbors to do so as well.

Cross State Travel Map Update

The Cross State Travel Map and data modeling presentation were updated Tuesday. Due to increased active case numbers in several counties in southern New England, the eligible number of travelers who can come to Vermont without quarantine fell from 4.7 million to 4.2 million.

Free technical assistance is now available through the Small Business Recovery Technical Assistance Program with support in a variety of areas being provided by the state’s 12 regional development corporations, Champlain College, the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, Northern Community Investment Corporation, and the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund.
