Legislature working on new round of recovery grants

Vermont Business Magazine The Economic Recovery Grant Program is fully subscribed at this time and is now closed. The Legislature is working on another round of funding for the program and the Agency of Commerce & Community Development (ACCD) will announce the details of that new phase soon. If you have an application that is in process, ACCD is continuing to process applications in the order they were submitted until the remaining money is gone.

Cross State Travel Map Update

As announced on Friday, the Cross State Travel Map and data modeling presentation were updated Tuesday and will continue to be updated each Tuesday moving forward. The intent is to give Vermonters, visitors and lodging operators more time to properly plan for weekend travel this fall.

Lamoille County COVID-19 Recovery Forum

On Thursday September 24th from 6:30–8:30pm, the Local Support and Community Action Team established by Governor Phil Scott will host a virtual COVID-19 recovery discussion to connect with others in Lamoille County. Meet with a “visiting team” of state, federal, business, and non-profit leaders who will share recovery strategies from across the state and ideas for resources and support. Technical Assistance Program Now Available

Governor Phil Scott and ACCD have also announced new resources for businesses navigating the COVID-19 crisis. Free technical assistance is now available through the Small Business Recovery Technical Assistance Program with support in a variety of areas being provided by the state’s 12 regional development corporations, Champlain College, the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, Northern Community Investment Corporation, and the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund. The program is now live, and businesses can begin accessing resources immediately.

VHFA Mortgage Assistance Program Expanded

The application period for the Vermont Housing Finance Agency’s Mortgage Assistance Program has been expanded. The program will now provide up to six months of grants for past due mortgage or property tax payments for qualified applicants. The program income eligibility requirements were also raised and qualified owners of mobile homes in parks with mortgages can now apply. VHFA encourages applying as soon as possible as funding is limited.
