Tourism industry updates: Bar's open, hotels full capacity

Vermont Business Magazine Governor Phil Scott has announced updates to the current lodging and restaurant guidance. Occupancy limits have now been removed for lodging properties, allowing lodging establishments the ability to book all available rooms. In addition, restaurants and bars can now utilize bar seating if patrons are six feet apart and a partition is in place between the patrons and the staff behind the bar. All mandatory safety measures, travel restrictions, quarantine requirements, and the cross state travel map remain in place.

CROSS STATE TRAVEL MAP UPDATE

The Cross State Travel Map and data modeling presentation will now be updated each Tuesday. The intent is to give Vermonters, visitors and lodging operators alike more time to properly plan for weekend travel this fall. The travel map was updated today, September 18th and will update again on Tuesday, September 22nd and each Tuesday thereafter.
FREE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE

Governor Phil Scott and ACCD have also announced new resources for businesses navigating the COVID-19 crisis. Free technical assistance is now available through the Small Business Recovery Technical Assistance Program with support in a variety of areas being provided by the state’s 12 regional development corporations, Champlain College, Vermont Chamber of Commerce, Northern Community Investment Corporation, and the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund. The program is now live, and businesses can begin accessing resources immediately.
NEW STAY AND PLAY DIRECTORY LAUNCHED
Stay and Play Directory - Plan Your Visit
VDTM has launched a complete redesign of the Stay and Play Directory on the Vermont Vacation website. The online vacation planning tool features a searchable database of Vermont lodging, dining, attractions, recreation, and shopping opportunities and is searched thousands of times each month by potential travelers to Vermont. New features include extensive filters and the ability to book reservations right from the directory. The directory was developed in partnership with the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. Businesses interested in a free directory listing can sign up using this form.
