Register your business for the Buy Local Vermont program by Sept 8

Agency of Commerce & Community Development ACCD is continuing to encourage interested businesses to sign up now for the #BuyLocalVermont program. More than 1,000 businesses have registered thus far. Businesses can enroll to take part in the program now, which will launch to consumers September 8, 2020 at 11:00am. For full details on the process to sign up, and to find an informational slide deck and webinar, visit the ACCD Recovery Resource Center.

ACCD is also encouraging lodging establishments statewide to sign up to participate. National franchises that are Vermont owned and operated are now eligible. Establishments must be domiciled and have their primary place of business in Vermont and have suffered economic harm due to the COVID-19 public health emergency and economic crisis.

New Sports Guidance Effective September 8th

A reminder that new sports guidance requiring face masks for all organized sports before, during, and after play goes into effect on September 8, 2020. Visit the ACCD Recovery Resource Center for more information and further guidance.

Wondering What to Do If a Customer or Employee Has COVID-19?

Working together with the Department of Health is the best way to lessen the risks and contain the spread of COVID-19. If someone was exposed to COVID-19 at your business, a team of infectious disease experts will work closely with you and make recommendations to keep your customers and employees safe. In most cases, when appropriate steps are taken quickly, there is no need to shut down your business.

Here’s what you need to do:

  • If an employee or customer tells you that they have tested positive for COVID-19, have them call the Department of Health at 802-863-7240. Find out what you need to do if an employee tests positive.
  • If you are contacted by the Department of Health because a risk has been identified at your business, the team will walk you through the next steps.
  • If you believe your establishment has been exposed to COVID-19, please call the Department of Health at 802-863-7240.

Tourism Survey Deadline Extended

The Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing (VDTM) is looking for businesses to help quantify the impact of COVID-19 across the tourism industry – from lodging to retail and restaurants to the arts – through participation in a survey. VDTM hopes businesses will take a moment to help us understand the economic loss and seasonal trends by filling out the survey and sharing it with industry partners or businesses to fill out as well. Responses are requested by Friday, September 11, 2020 (which has been extend from September 4, 2020).
