ACCD: Emergency extended to July 15, travel updated, campgrounds fully open

State of Emergency Extended to July 15

Governor Phil Scott announced Monday as expected that the state of emergency scheduled to end June 15 is being extended to July 15th. With most sectors and businesses allowed to open to at least 25% capacity and health and safety measures continuing to be followed, this extension of the state of emergency will allow Vermont to continue on the path of safely reopening the economy.

New Quarantine Requirements Effective Monday

As previously announced, leisure travel to or from any county in New England or New York with less than 400 active cases of COVID-19 per one million residents can now be done without quarantine. ACCD and the Department of Financial Regulation will update the Cross State Travel Map weekly to monitor which counties are impacted. The map as well as the latest quarantine requirements and guidelines are available on the Cross State Travel Information page.

A recording of the webinar ACCD hosted last week to help explain the coming quarantine changes as they relate to the lodging industry is available online.

Campgrounds and Marina Guidance Update

Campgrounds in Vermont are now permitted to operate at 100% capacity, but must continue to follow guidance on mandatory health and safety practicesand the latest travel quarantine requirements.

The Latest on the Paycheck Protection Program

The deadline to get applications in for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) is June 30th. For more information please see these resources:

  • A recording of the Department of Economic Development’s virtual town hall about the Paycheck Protection Program—“PPP: There’s Still Money Available”—is now available.
  • New rules and guidance for the PPP—as well as an updated borrower application form and loan forgiveness application—are forthcoming. Visit the SBA website for details about the upcoming changes.
  • The SBA has also announced it is providing $10 billion of round two funding for PPP to be lent exclusively by Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). These funds will help to ensure that the Paycheck Protection Program reaches all communities in need of relief during COVID-19.
