A weekly report of planned construction activities that will have traffic impacts on state highways

Week of November 23, 2020

Here is a list of road construction projects happening throughout Vermont. Crews will wrap work by Wednesday evening and be off through the weekend for the Thanksgiving holiday. As projects wind down for the season, this will serve as the final report for 2020. Travel Safely.

Interstates

I-89 Berlin – The bridge replacement project is set to wrap for the year. Northbound and Southbound traffic are reduced to one lane Monday through Wednesday this week. Motorists should be aware of a work zone speed reduction.

I-89 Sharon – Bethel – A resurfacing project is wrapping up in both the Northbound and Southbound lanes between Exits 2 and 3. On Monday and Tuesday, motorists will see lane closures and a speed reduction to 55 mph when lane closures are in effect.

I-91 Hartland – Motorists will see lane reductions Northbound and Southbound, with reduced speeds enforced in the work zone for bridge replacement operations.

I-91 Rockingham – Bridge deck work continues this week. Motorists should note that lane and speed reductions remain in place both Northbound and Southbound.

Around the State

Chelsea – Thetford – A series of culvert replacements and repairs continues along VT 113. Travelers will encounter flagged one-way traffic in the areas of operation through November.

Hartford – From Monday to Wednesday, crews will be cleaning up the work zone, moving equipment out of the area, and preparing for the winter shutdown. There are no anticipated traffic delays associated with this work.

Hinesburg – Intersection improvements are underway along VT 116 at its intersection with Shelburne Falls Rd. and CVU Rd. Work is expected outside of the roadway and should have no impacts on traffic this week.

North Hero – Grand Isle – Drawbridge construction continues along US 2. A speed reduction remains in place. Mariners: The drawbridge has suspended its daily operating schedule until May 15, 2021. Pittsford – Multiple activities for roadway reconstruction along US 7 this week. Lane shifts and new traffic patterns are in effect. Motorists should proceed with caution as they navigate throughout the project. Expect intermittent stoppages of traffic with minor delays. A speed reduction to 35 mph remains in effect.

Stowe – Morristown – Crews have completed operations along VT 100 for this season and will return in the spring to continue work. The speed limit restriction throughout the work zone has been lifted for the winter and is now 50 mph.

Waterbury – Cleanup operations and various activities are underway along US 2 (Main Street) to prepare the downtown project for the winter shutdown. Motorists will see one-way alternating traffic assisted by flaggers in multiple areas of the downtown.

West Townshend – Motorists should expect one-way traffic controlled by a stoplight along VT 30 through the end of the year as crews work on ledge removal operations.
