Vermont Business Magazine The application for an Economic Recovery Grant is OPEN to Vermont businesses. With funding available to the State of Vermont through the federal Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF), these grants are intended for businesses who can demonstrate revenue loss in any one-month period from March 1, 2020 to August 31, 2020, when compared with the same month in 2019. College Restart Plan Announced
The Governor's Restart Task Force and ACCD today announced new guidance for the reopening of college campuses to students this fall. The guidance will require all students be tested upon arrival and sign a code of conduct agreement as well as require colleges to reduce density in classrooms and dining halls to keep students and faculty communities safe.
Guidance for Employees Returning to Work After Testing Positive for COVID-19
The Department of Health has issued guidance for the safe return to work of an employee who tested positive for COVID-19. It is important for employers to know that neither a negative test for COVID-19 nor a letter from the Department of Health should be required to return to work.
PPP Application Deadline Has Been Extended
Legislation has been passed and signed extending the federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) untilAugust 8, 2020. The PPP provides federally-guaranteed loans to employers who maintain their payroll during this emergency. We encourage businesses to explore whether this federal program is a good fit for them. COVID-19 Recovery Visits: From Recovery to Renewal and Resilience
The Local Support and Community Action Team of the Governor's Economic Mitigation and Recovery Task Force is launching a series of virtual forums, facilitated by the Vermont Council on Rural Development, in every county across the state to: Share challenges and ideas for community recovery; connect to others working to respond, recover and build long-term resilience; and meet with a “visiting team” of state, federal, business and nonprofit leaders. USDA Seeks Applications to Strengthen Rural Cooperatives
USDA is accepting applications for grants to help start, expand or improve rural cooperatives and other mutually owned businesses in rural America. $5.8 million in grants is available under the Rural Cooperative Development Grant (RCDG) program to help improve economic conditions in rural areas. Nonprofit corporations and institutions of higher education are eligible to apply to provide technical assistance to individuals and rural businesses. The application deadline is August 3, 2020.
