Langrock Sperry & Wool celebrates 60th anniversary with a year of donations

LSW 2020 60-for-60th Charity Program Kicks Off With a Cool Splash

Vermont Business Magazine Established in 1960, the law firm of Langrock, Sperry & Wool, LLP has begun a yearlong celebration of their 60 years of service in Vermont with a series of charitable contributions known as 60-for-60th.

Each month throughout 2020, Langrock will be make “donations of 60” to charitable organizations throughout Chittenden and Addison counties.

The first donation supports the athletes of the Rutland Eagles Special Olympics team, which is run by long-time Langrock staffer, Mary Mitchell. Every year, some of the Rutland Eagles Special Olympians participate in the Penguin Plunge to support Special Olympics in Vermont, marching into the frigid waters of Lake Champlain alongside the members of the Burlington Rugby Club, including Langrock partner, Christopher L. Davis.

Special Olympian, Chris Mitchell (3rd row, closest to camera, no cap) joins Langrock attorney, Christopher Davis (front row, farthest from camera, red cap), and members of the Burlington Rugby Club in this year’s Penguin Plunge.

In recognition of this brave and chilly effort, Langrock is donating 60 team jackets to the Rutland Eagles, which – in addition to providing some needed warmth upon exiting the lake – enables the Eagles to attend competitions in matching uniforms. “We cannot thank Langrock enough for this generous donation,” said Mary Mitchell. “Our athletes will wear these jackets with pride,” she added.

Next up for the firm’s 60-for-60th giving program, Langrock will be supporting the Vermont chapter of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI Vermont), by donating 60 picture dictionaries to assist English language learners in USCRI Vermont’s community English classes for New Americans.
