Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Specialty Food Association (VSFA) will host its annual Fall Meeting on Tuesday, November 5th at the Stoweflake Mountain Resort in Stowe, VT. The event features five informative sessions focused on business essentials, including common and complex HR challenges and a panel discussion on cash flow.
VSFA invites all food producers, retailers, and business service providers to attend to network, learn, and connect on a shared vision of promoting Vermont's brand and business growth. This year’s schedule has been streamlined to provide more built-in networking opportunities, a benefit that VSFA members and retailers find invaluable.
“On any given day, small business owners and growing companies often have to wear many hats from CFO to human resources to janitor. Our fall meeting is focused on digging into some of these roles so we can all be better informed on how to manage things from daily cash flow to handling employee leave requests,” remarks Calley Hastings, owner of Fat Toad Farm and VSFA Board President.
VSFA is excited to welcome their keynote speaker, Shawna Lidsky, President of Vermont Brownie Company, an award-winning gourmet gift company. Shawna will share her unlikely journey from sports broadcaster to brownie maker and everything in between, including selling her business to Vermont Teddy Bear Company in 2015 and buying it back several years later. Vermont Brownie Company recently celebrated its 11th anniversary and is best known for creative flavor pairings, whimsical packaging designs, and beating world-famous chef, Bobby Flay, on the Food Network’s - Throwdown with Bobby Flay.
Registration is open to business professionals representing a specialty food company, retailer or business service provider. Prospective members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Discounted tickets are available to new members. Tickets and the full agenda are available on Eventbrite at https://vsfafallmeeting2019.eventbrite.com.
