Vermont Business Magazine Vermont Business Magazine and the Vermont Chamber have announced the three finalists for the 2018 Deane C Davis Outstanding Business of the Year Award: Chroma Technology Corp, Bellows Falls, Green Mountain Power, Colchester and ReArch Company, South Burlington.
One of these impressive finalists will be named the 2018 Deane C Davis Outstanding Vermont Business of the Year on Wednesday, May 22nd in an awards presentation ceremony at the UVM Grossman School of Business.
This year’s finalists exemplify the resourcefulness, innovation and success of Vermont’s businesses. They all share a dedication to their employees, communities and Vermont’s natural environment. Each represents a unique story of vision, commitment and growth.

To recognize and honor Vermont’s best companies, Vermont Business Magazine and the Vermont Chamber created the Deane C Davis Outstanding Business of the Year Award in 1990. Named for the former Governor of Vermont, this annual award honors a Vermont business that shows an outstanding history of sustained growth while displaying an acute awareness of what makes Vermont unique. Commitment to the environment and dedication to employee relations are key components to receiving the award.
In addition to the DCD Outstanding Business of the Year presentation on May 22nd five previous DCD winners will be inducted into the DCD Business Hall of Fame located at the UVM Grossman School of Business. The five businesses which will be inducted are Foley Family of Companies, 2011 winner, GW Plastics, 2012, Dealer.com, 2013, Champlain Cable, 2014 and PC Construction, 2015. Each will receive a plaque commemorating their induction into the DCD Hall of Fame and will have their names engraved on the DCD Hall of Fame plaque hanging at the Hall of Fame in Kalkin Hall on the UVM campus.
