Vermont Business Magazine Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health CEO and President Joanne M Conroy, MD, has been named to Modern Healthcare’s inaugural listing of Women Leaders Luminaries. These are executives whose careers have been defined by reshaping the industry. They’re perennial figures in Modern Healthcare’s recognition programs. The profiles of all the winners are featured in the February 18, 2019 print issue of Modern Healthcare and at https://www.modernhealthcare.com/community/top-25-women/2019/.
In its either year, the biennial recognition program honors the top women healthcare executives who are influencing the policy and care delivery models across the country. In doing so, they are also highlighting the continued need to nurture diversity in our organizations.
“Unfortunately, the gender gap plagues healthcare just as much as it does other industries. Women CEOs comprise an estimated 30% (at most) of the overall C-suite. But the executives named to this year’s Top 25 Women Leaders list exemplify how diversity results in success, both clinically and financially,” said Aurora Aguilar, editor for Modern Healthcare. “Congratulations to those leaders in the 2019 class and this year’s Luminaries and 10 to Watch. Thank you all for your contributions to healthcare.”
“It’s an honor to be included as one of Modern Healthcare’s luminaries,” said Conroy. “The commitment of my colleagues to finding new and better ways to deliver care to the families and communities we serve is a commitment I share, and having the opportunity to be a leader in health care is a real privilege. I look forward to continuing to contribute and shape the direction of health care.”
Conroy has appeared on the “Top 25 Women Leaders” in the past, and in 2018, Modern Healthcare named Conroy one of its “100 Most Influential People in Health Care.” Earlier this year, she was named one of six “Outstanding Women in Business” by NH Business Review.
