Vermont Business Magazine The Community Bank N.A. New England region branches recently presented a $15,000 donation to United Way of Northwest Vermont to supports it annual campaign. In addition, the bank’s New England area employees have pledged $10,152 to the organization for 2019.
“We’re proud to support the completion of the United Way of Northwest Vermont’s annual workplace campaign,” Community Bank N.A. Regional Manager Anita Bourgeois said. “Our team is more than just your local bankers—we’re members of this community and invested in the future of the region. United Way is an important part of that future as it works hard to help all children, youth and young adults achieve their potential.”
United Way of Northwest Vermont was founded in 1942 and its mission is to build a stronger Northwest Vermont by mobilizing the community to improve people’s lives by meeting unmet needs. Its focus is on promoting mental health, advancing employment, supporting families, reducing substance abuse and meeting basic needs.
“It’s great to see Community Bank N.A. and its amazing staff demonstrate their commitment to the Northwest Vermont community each year through the United Way campaign,” United Way Workplace Donor Relations Manager Cari Kelley said. “We’re so grateful to the volunteers and leaders within Community Bank who organize the workplace campaign and enable the work of United Way to leverage their dollars to support its key strategies—from meeting basic needs like transportation and housing, to supporting families through affordable childcare, and working to tackle major challenges like supporting mental health and reducing substance abuse.”
In 2018, United Way of Northwest Vermont invested more than $3.5 million in the community, totaling 51 programs at 34 local nonprofits within Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle counties.
