Vermont Business Magazine On June 20th, Governor Phil Scott signed the Broadband Bill in Dover, Vermont. That bill expands access to broadband services (see story here) and includes a Study Committee on the future of Public, Educational and Government (PEG) access television. The Committee meets on July 19 in Room 10 at 10 am at the Statehouse for its second meeting to consider “changes in federal and State law and policy, market trends, and any other matters that have an affect on the availability of or funding for PEG access channels and services in Vermont.” 

The PEG Study Committee, convened by the Vermont Department of Public Service, includes chair Senator Becca Balint (D-Windham) and co-chair Representative Michael Yantachka (D-Charlotte); Karen Horn, Vermont League of Cities and Towns; Lauren-Glenn Davitian, Vermont Access Network; Daniel Glanville, Comcast and representatives of DPS and Vermont Public Utility Commission. 

Here is a link to the first meeting held on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at the Vermont Statehouse. The committee elected Senator Balint and Representative Yantachka as chair and vice-chair, respectively, and set the next three meetings for July 19, Aug 22, and Sep 20, 2019. The enabling legislation allows for six meetings for the committee.
