Vermont Business Magazine The Community Bank NA New England branches recently donated $15,000 to The DREAM Program to support its mentoring program. To present the donation, 18 team members joined members of the DREAM Program at Camp DREAM for a work day. The team helped paint, clear trails and get the camp ready for children who will be attending the camp this summer.
Camp DREAM is a free residential summer camp for children in The DREAM Program, a nonprofit mentoring organization that pairs college students with children living in low-income housing neighborhoods throughout Vermont. Camp DREAM also serves inner-city youth from Boston and Philadelphia from low-income housing developments.
“There’s no better way for us to spend a day out of the office than volunteering in our community,” Community Bank N.A. District Manager Erika Baldasaro said. “Our team is proud to support the mission of The DREAM Program because nothing is more important than helping children feel empowered to recognize and achieve their dreams. We look forward to volunteering with DREAM again and encourage our fellow community members to get involved, as well.”
The DREAM Program was founded in 1999. Through its programs, DREAM helps close the opportunity gap for more than 400 of the most vulnerable children in our communities.
