Vermont Business Magazine Birdseye, the architecture and building firm located in Richmond, Vermont, has been named a top 5 finalist for the prestigious international 7th Annual Architizer A+ Awards. Their design project, WOODSHED, is a finalist for the Private House 3,000 – 5,000 SF category. Designed as a guest house, the Vermont project is conceptually inspired by the vernacular woodshed, a familiar and iconic element in the rural landscape, and is clad throughout in reclaimed corral board.

As a top 5 finalist in the 7th Annual Architizer A+ Awards, Birdseye’s WOODSHED is also eligible for the Architizer Popular Choice Award which is based on a public vote ending July 5th. “We have a great opportunity to bring more recognition to the caliber of work happening in Vermont,” says Brian Mac, Principal Architect at Birdseye. “We hope our community will recognize this and help us out with their votes.” Voting for the 7TH Annual Architizer A+ Popular Choice Award happens here through July 5th. Both the Jury Award and the Popular Choice Award will be announced on July 9th.

WOODSHED was designed by Birdseye with landscape by Wagner Hodgson Landscape Architecture. The project was built by Colby and Tobiason Builders. WOODSHED has won the 2017 AIA New England Merit Award as well as the 2016 AIA VT Honor Award and the Canadian Wood Council’s 2016 Wood Design & Building Award.
