Vermont Business Magazine US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will present 19 citizenship candidates to the US District Court for the District of Vermont during a special naturalization ceremony at the Calvin Coolidge Homestead in Plymouth on Thursday. US District Judge J Garvan Murtha will administer the Oath of Allegiance. The 19 citizenship candidates originate from the following 13 countries: Bhutan, Brazil, Burma, China, Congo, Dominican Republic, Ghana, India, Iraq, Jamaica, Poland, Singapore and Sudan.
USCIS will celebrate the Declaration of Independence and the birth of our country by welcoming about 7,500 new citizens in nearly 110 naturalization ceremonies from July 1 through July 5. Our naturalization ceremonies will be held in venues across the country, and include several notable ceremonies. Acting Director Kenneth Cuccinelli delivered congratulatory remarks to 52 new Americans at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum on July 2, while that same day, Deputy Director Mark Koumans delivered congratulatory remarks to the new citizens at a ceremony on board the USS Constitution.
USCIS encourages new citizens and guests to share their naturalization ceremony experiences and photos through social media using the hashtag #newUScitizen, #4thofJuly and #IndependenceDay.
