Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont State Police is investigating a fatal shooting in St Johnsbury. At 9:48 pm Wednesday, July 31, 2019, officers with the St Johnsbury Police Department responded to 170 Pearl Street for a report of a shooting. On scene, St Johnsbury PD located a deceased man inside an apartment at that address. Investigators with the Vermont State Police were called to assist with the investigation. This case is being investigated as a homicide.
According to witnesses, at least two vehicles were seen fleeing the area after the shooting. A clear description of the vehicles is not available.
At this time the state police has not identified the victim. The body is being transported to the Vermont Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Burlington for an autopsy to confirm cause and manner of death.
This incident appears to be isolated and not a threat to the public.
