Vermont Business Magazine Community Bank NA recently presented a $3,500 donation to Vermont Community Garden Network (VCGN) to help support its various programs and services, including its hands-on garden education for youth and adults, training, technical assistance, resources and networking opportunities for garden leaders.

VCGN supports accessible local food systems which have a direct impact on the health and nutrition of Vermonters. Community gardens feed thousands of children, families, new Americans, seniors and veterans, and others who are at risk for food insecurity and poor nutrition. The shared garden spaces they support increase access to fresh, healthy food, expose young and old to more active lifestyles, increase self-sufficiency and empower people to work together to feed communities.

“We’re proud to support VCGN in its mission to support and grow the state’s gardens,” Community Bank N.A. Branch Manager Jonathan Roddy said. “VCGN is a leader in Vermont’s community garden movement. Its programs not only educate the community, but support and connect garden leaders. The work they do will have a true impact on our region’s future.”
