Vermont Business Magazine Women Business Owners Network (WBON) is pleased to announce the launch of WBON+, a new small group program to help women business owners succeed. Combining the value of collective knowledge and experience with the support of community, WBON+ matches women business owners with peers who commit to meeting monthly in a structured fashion to explore challenges and provide encouragement.
Sign-ups for WBON+ are being accepted now, and participants will be matched with other participants with similar goals and challenges. WBON will launch the inaugural set of groups at its Spring Conference being held April 30 at the Hampton Inn in Colchester.
“For years, we have heard feedback from women business owners that the conversations they have at our conferences and chapter meetings are valuable, but they are yearning for a deeper support network,” says Jill Davies, WBON Board President. “Many small business owners are missing a sounding board for their questions and challenges. WBON+ is a way to give women business owners what they’ve been craving: a confidential space to explore business issues, seek advice, and hold each other accountable.”
Interested women business owners can learn more about WBON+ by visiting http://wbon.org/wbonplus, where they can find FAQs and a brief application questionnaire to be matched with the most appropriate WBON+ group. Business owners should sign up as soon as possible to be part of the groups launching at the April 30 event.
Groups will commit to meeting monthly for a minimum of six months and will be led by a trained facilitator. For those who have participated in such a group, the experience can be transformative. “I participated in a peer support group in the past and it was so important to get outside perspectives to help work through issues I was having in my business. Being a business owner can be isolating, so having a network to rely on is critical,” says Davies.
