Vermont Business Magazine Community Bank NA recently presented a $5,000 donation to the Kenneth Myers Memorial Pool Foundation, Inc., to support its fundraising efforts for a new municipal pool complex. The donation will help fund construction of the Myers Memorial Pool project that will benefit the Winooski community and the surrounding area.
“We are proud to help support the Kenneth Myers Memorial Pool Foundation’s fundraising efforts for an upgraded aquatic complex,” Community Bank N.A. Commercial Banker Joyce Werzer said. “Once complete, this project will provide access to aquatic recreation in a safe, welcoming environment.”
The Myers Memorial pool was built in 1972 and dedicated to Kenneth R. Myers. It was closed after summer 2015 due to aging of the facility. The new complex will include a competition and family pool with a water slide and a new outdoor pavilion with shade. The goal is to have the project completed by summer 2020.
The Kenneth Myers Memorial Pool Foundation is currently participating in a “A Community Thrives” fundraising challenge to raise $10,000 to be eligible for one of 16 project grants of up to $100,000. The challenge goes through Friday, April 12.
“As members of the Winooski community, we wanted to help support Kenneth Myers Memorial Pool Foundation,” Community Bank N.A. Branch Manager Darcy Allard said. “I encourage everyone who is able, to consider donating to this effort.”
