Target to hold job fairs, hire about 100 seasonal workers

Vermont Business Magazine Following what it called a successful store opening, Target is continuing to hire team members for its South Burlington small-format store. Target is holding all-day job fairs for approximately 100 new seasonal team members on October 25 and 26 at the store. In addition, the company will continue to offer extra hours to current team members to accommodate their interest and availability.

“We have seen a tremendous response from the community and are hoping to build an even bigger team to serve South Burlington during the holidays. We look forward to growing our team while providing them meaningful opportunities to build and develop skills for their careers,” said Jake Moore, store team leader, Target.

Candidates for Target’s seasonal positions can apply now in advance of this week’s hiring events, at TargetSeasonalJobs.com. Store leaders will conduct pre-scheduled interviews with applicants and discuss the positions that are available at their store. Candidates who attend the hiring events may have the opportunity to interview on-the-spot and receive a conditional job offer. Seasonal team members will fill a variety of roles, including stocking the hottest holiday toys and decorations, working with guests to identify the perfect gift, and supporting Drive Up, Order Pickup and ship-from-store offerings.

Target offers market competitive wages to all team members, both full-time and seasonal, in cities across the country and recently increased its minimum hourly wage. This investment in the team will allow Target to continue to recruit and retain strong team members and provide an elevated experience for its guests and in the communities it serves.

Target raised its minimum wage to $11 an hour in 2017 and then to $12 for existing workers earlier this year. It also announced it would raise the minimum to $15 an hour by the end of 2020.

Target said it is also investing more than $2 million to reward team members working during the busy holiday season as part of its work.win.give. appreciation program. This includes an opportunity for each of Target’s 1,846 stores to award one hourly team member a $500 Target GiftCard and a donation of $500 to the local community organization of their choice.

Full-time and seasonal team members will be eligible for:

  • A 10 percent discount at Target stores and Target.com
  • A 20 percent merchandise wellness discount on fruits and vegetables and all Simply Balanced and C9 Champion merchandise
  • The opportunity to earn holiday pay on Thanksgiving and Christmas
  • Flexible schedules that allow team members to work a variety of hours
