Madeleine Kunin endorses Christine Hallquist for governor

Vermont Business Magazine Vermont Democratic candidate for governor, Christine Hallquist, received the endorsement of former governor Madeleine May Kunin Monday. “I believe that Hallquist will move Vermont in the right direction. Her plan to connect every home and business with fiber optic cable will boost economic development, especially in rural Vermont.”

“Her successs in transforming the Vermont Electric Coop into a renewable electricity model demonstrates her management skills.”

“She is a strong supporter of public education and a sustainable environment. She has a “can do” attitude and will get things done.”

Christine, in response to the endorsement, expressed her gratitude for Governor Kunin's groundbreaking legacy, example, and support in her bid to be second woman to be Vermont's governor.

“Since the beginning of my campaign, I've had the great pleasure of learning from the example set by Vermont's first and only woman governor, Madeleine Kunin. Governor Kunin exemplifies courage, grace, and service to our state and I am honored to receive her support. In her 1984 campaign, Governor Kunin's message centered around 'Strong Ideas for the Future' and over 30 years later, I too intend to take a bold vision to the Montpelier as Vermont's second woman to become governor,” said Christine Hallquist.
