Riverbend Residential Care Home has earned a deficiency free survey

Vermont Business MagazineRiverbend Residential Care Home (RCH) in Chelsea has earned deficiency-free surveys from the Vermont Department of Licensing and Protection. “We are pleased to share the news of Riverbend’s recent deficiency-free surveys and thank our team for their commitment to high-quality home like care for our residents,” said owner Jennifer Doyle in a press release. “The survey results are made even more meaningful by the fact that, Riverbend has maintained deficiency free status for 15 years."

An unannounced, on-site survey was conducted on November 19, 2018 by Vermont’s Division of Licensing and Protection. Areas of inspections include but are not limited to residents rights and contracts, medical record review and documentation, resident care, meals and dietary needs, resident interviews, staff training and performance as well as the over all aspects of the building, its cleanliness and care. The Division of Fire Safety also conducted an on-site Life Safety Code inspection, and Riverbend “was found to be in substantial compliance with applicable Life Safety Code requirements.”

The Division of Licensing and Protection regulates long-term care homes and health care facilities for the dual purposes of protecting the welfare and rights of residents and patients and assuring they receive the appropriate level and quality of care.

Riverbend Residential Care Home, owned and operated by Jennifer and Amos Doyle, is located in Chelsea village, just walking distance from the town center. It is licensed to provide care to 22 residents. Residents can be fairly independent needing varied levels of care from supervision tonursing home care.

Doyle attributes the facilities success to her dedicated high quality staff sharing, “I couldn’t do this without the hard work, dedication and support from our staff especially Bobbisue Champney who co-manages Riverbend.” Doyle went on to acknowledge the faithful support of the close knit Chelsea community including the Chelsea Health Center, the First Branch Ambulance, Clara Martin Center and her residents and their families.
