Vermont Business Magazine Shelburne Farms announced today that Robin Turnau, former CEO of Vermont Public Radio, has joined the Farm as its Chief Advancement Officer. In this new position, she will be responsible for raising resources for and awareness of Shelburne Farms and its educational mission, overseeing development, communications, marketing, and public relations.
“It's wonderful getting to know Shelburne Farms from the inside. The Farm is similar to VPR in that they’re both all about education and community. People often think of it as a beautiful place -- and it certainly is -- but there’s so much depth to its educational mission,” Turnau explains “I'm looking forward to building broad community awareness around how we're really helping students create a healthy future for themselves and the planet."

Turnau joins the Farm after a successful 28-year career at Vermont Public Radio. During her time at VPR she served as membership drive coordinator, development director, VP for development, and ultimately as CEO for the past nine years. During her tenure as CEO, she was responsible for listenership reaching an all-time high of more than 220,000 people each week. Under her leadership VPR completed a successful $10M capital campaign which included the expansion and renovation of VPR’s headquarters and the establishment of an Innovation Fund to fuel VPR’s local programming and news. Turnau stepped down from her position at VPR in May.
“We are tremendously excited to have Robin on board,” says Shelburne Farms President Alec Webb. “Her skills and talent will be instrumental to advancing the Farm and extending its impact.”
