Governor Scott files reelection papers

Vermont Business Magazine Governor Phil Scott today submitted to the Secretary of State the petitions required to seek reelection. Today, May 31, was the final day in which to file election papers.

“It has been an honor to serve as governor and, in just 17 months, we’ve already started to make Vermont more affordable and restore our economic foundation,” said Governor Scott. “But there is still so much to do to build on this progress. Growing the economy and making Vermont a stronger, more prosperous state will remain my top priorities.”

“We still have work to do in order to get through this Special Legislative Session -- and that is where my focus will remain -- to deliver another budget for Vermonters that does not raise any new taxes or fees, including statewide property tax rates. We will formally kickoff the reelection campaign after this important work is done.”
