GMP invites public back to Lowell wind tour for sixth season

Vermont Business Magazine You can see wind energy in action this summer as Green Mountain Power brings back its free tours of the 21-turbine Kingdom Community Wind project in Lowell. The popular summer tours are open to Vermonters and tourists alike, and draw more than 1,200 people to the site each June, July and August.

“Green Mountain Power is a great community partner, and we are so happy the tours have returned along with the warmer weather,” said Richard Pion, chair of the Lowell Selectboard. “These tours are a great chance to see a wind project up close. Plus, they have attracted thousands of visitors to our region over the years, which benefits the local economy as they make stops at local restaurants and businesses.”

Each tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and includes a visit to two of the turbines. The tours are free, and advance registration is required.
