Vermont Business Magazine Community Bank NAbranches across New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Massachusetts recently joined together to host a canned food drive throughout February. The more than 100 participating branches collected 6,668 items and $500 in donations for local food pantries, shelves and banks, surpassing the original goal of 2,018 items. Sixteen New England branches participated, collecting 460 items toward the grand total. Items were donated to numerous agencies including Aunt Dot’s Place, Deerfield Valley Food Pantry and Rachel’s Table. Overall, nearly 100 food pantries, shelves and banks across Community Bank N.A.’s footprint received donations from the drive.
“We cannot thank our community enough for their support of our February Canned Food Drive,” Community Bank N.A.New England Regional Manager Anita Bourgeoissaid. “Our local food banks, pantries and shelves rely on community support to help our neighbors in need. Every single can and item donated will make a significant impact.”
Participating local branches included Bennington, Burlington College Street, Essex, Fair Haven, Hardwick, Hinesburg, Jericho, Rutland Green Mountain Plaza, Rutland Woodstock Avenue, South Burlington Kennedy Drive and Shelburne Road, Springfield Massachusetts, St. Johnsbury, Waterbury, White River Junction and Winooski.
