Vermont State PoliceTwo people were killed in a head-on crash in South Londonderry Saturday (07/21/2018)evening. At approximately8:24 pm, members of the Vermont State Police, Westminster Station along with an officer from the Winhall Police Department, responded to VT RT 100 in South Londonderry for a reported head-on, two-vehicle crash. This crash occurred on VT RT 100 south of intersection with Spring Hill Road. Investigation revealed the following: witness statements indicated that a white 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan was traveling at a reported high rate of speed northbound. The Volkswagen began leaving yaw marks in the road as it began swerving to the left in the northbound lane. The Volkswagen then crossed the centerline while leaving yaw marks in the southbound lane while it traveled north. The Volkswagen then struck a 2009 Chevy 2500 pick-up truck which was pulling a pop up trailer that was traveling south on VT RT 100. The occupants of the Volkswagen, Triston Morin of Andover and Shannon Tremblay of South Londonderry, were pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
After the impact, the Volkswagen spun violently, sending the engine into the woods where it landed approximately landing 50 feet from the car’s final point of rest. The Volkswagen came to rest facing south off the west side of RT 100. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene and located in the driver’s seat. The female passenger was ejected and located deceased approximately ten feet behind the car.
The occupants of the Chevrolet pickup truck were identified as (operator) James Thoin 65, of Jaffrey NH and (passenger) Brooklyn Thoin 8, of Bolton MA. Both occupants were transported to Springfield VT Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The VT Agency of Transportation, Winhall Police Department, the Londonderry Fire Department along with the Londonderry Rescue Squad assisted with this investigation.

This was the second fatal head-on accident reported by the State Police on consecutive days. An accident in Elmore Friday left one person dead.
