Vermont State PoliceOn Sunday, August 26, 2018, at approximately 1125 hours the Vermont State Police were notified of a one-car motor vehicle crash involving an ATV. Prior to arrival onscene, the operator succumbed to injuries that he sustained as a result of themotor vehicle crash. Initial investigation indicates that Troy Gadue was travelling south on ElderHill Road in the Town of Lincoln. Gadue travelled left of center into theopposing lane, and left the road surface. After leaving the roadway Gaduestruck several smaller trees before the ATV came to a position of rest. As aresult of the crash, Gadue sustained blunt force trauma to the right side of hishead and right side of his torso. Gadue was found not wearing a helmet. Althoughspeed does not appear to be a contributing factor, Gadue's suspected consumptionof intoxicants may have played a role in the crash.
Anyone who may have witnessed this motor vehicle crash, or who had contact withTroy Gadue on August 25, 2018 or August 26, 2018 is asked to contact theVermont State Police New Haven Barracks at 802-388-4919. This motor vehiclecrash is still in its initial stages of investigation. This will also be thefinal news release for this incident.
The Vermont State Police were assisted on scene by members of the Lincoln FireDepartment and the Bristol Rescue Squad.
