Vermont Business Magazine Small Dog Electronics’ founder and CEO Don Mayer announced today that the company is seeking new ownership or partners. The company, located in Waitsfield with stores in South Burlington and Key West, Fl, generates about 50 percent of their revenue from sales to the government and the balance from retail and on-line sales. The company is an Apple Premier Partner and specializes in Apple products and services as well as home automation products. Mayer and Small Dog have been longtime leaders of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility.

General Manager Emily Dolloff told VBM that anyone with inquiries about the sale price and other inquiries can reach out to her and she can pass along information about the broker. She is located in the Waitsfield office (www.smalldog.com).
Don Mayer started the company in 1994 at his home in Warren and is now seeking to retire. The company, in a press release, said it has a strong team in place but needs a new influx of capital and an owner with both a vision of both making Vermont’s Apple Premier Partner a sustainable success and maintaining the company’s commitment to socially responsible business practices.
Small Dog Electronics, the release states, represents a unique opportunity for the investor looking to get involved with the most successful brand in electronics, Apple Computer.
Small Dog Electronics has been an Apple Premier Partner and Specialist for over two decades and is authorized by Apple as an independent reseller, government reseller and Apple Authorized service center.
After over 35 years in the electronics business, Don Mayer is retiring and the company is looking for new leadership, energy and resources.
"Innovation, creativity and the ability to change rapidly with the evolving electronics market are essential ingredients for success," said Don Mayer, "building customers for life, creating a community and acting as a socially responsible business is the DNA of Small Dog Electronics", he continued.
The current owners, Don and Hapy Mayer will be available to work with and train the new owners as needed and to assist in the transition.
