SVHC employees donate 170 backpacks to local students

Vermont Business Magazine Employees from 25 departments at Southwestern Vermont Health Care collectively purchased 170 backpacks and filled them with school supplies for local children whose families may have financial difficulty purchasing items for the return to school. The children attend 16 local schools, and each school will receive 10 – 11 backpacks to distribute.

“Contributing in this way is such a joy for our staff,” said Suzanne Anair, administrator of Centers for Living and Rehabilitation, whose team organizes the drive. “We are gratified to know that that students who receive a backpack through this special program will be able to approach the new school year with confidence and a sense that their community really cares about them.”
