Vermont Business MagazineBrattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) and Community College of Vermont (CCV) are launching an accelerated program to prepare qualified candidates for jobs as Certified Medical Assistants. Enrollment in the one semester program will be limited to twenty participants. Classes will be held on the CCV Brattleboro campus, and all clinical aspects of the course work will be completed at BMH. As part of the joint initiative, BMH is providing full scholarships for eight successful applicants to the program. Scholarship recipients will have their CCV tuition covered and will be hired as Medical Assistants at BMH upon successful completion of the academic program and licensure exam.
Two informational presentations about the program will be held at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in the Brew Barry Conference Room #2. The first one is scheduled forMay 17from1:00–2:30 PM and the second will be held onJune 8from2:00-3:00 PM. The public is invited to attend to learn about program details, the application process, and the eight scholarship opportunities available. Staff from BMH and CCV, as well as current BMH Medical Assistants will be on hand to answer questions and provide technical assistance with the application process.

Applications for the new College to Career Program are available at CCV.edu. Applications will be considered on a rolling application process untilAugust 1. The first session of classes will begin onSeptember 5, 2017. The curriculum will consist of a combination of classroom instruction at CCV and supervised clinical practice at BMH.
