Donna Van Fleet, Board Chair for Mt. Ascutney Hospital, stated, “An accomplished and admired leader, Gay brings passion and a proven track record for facilitating partnerships. This skill is invaluable as MAHHC carries out its participation in healthcare systems that provide our community access to the fullest array of resources to both keep them healthy as well as treat them when they are ill."

Landstrom, who has served as Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Chief Nursing Officer since 2014, will serve as the Interim CEO at MAHHC with responsibility for strategy, community relations and furtherance of the MAHHC mission.  While Landstrom serves as interim CEO at Mt. Ascutney, D-H Associate Chief Nursing Officer Karen F. Clements, RN, FACHE, will manage day-to-day nursing oversight at Dartmouth-Hitchcock as acting CNO.

“One of the beauties of health systems is the ability to help and support one another during times of transition,” said Landstrom. “I’m honored to be selected to help lead MAHHC during this transition, and I look forward to working with the talented staff at Mt. Ascutney as we work to serve our patients.”

According to Dr. James N. Weinstein, CEO and President of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health system, Landstrom is “a transformative and tireless leader in Nursing across Dartmouth-Hitchcock, and I know she will bring the same energy and passion to this temporary leadership position at Mt. Ascutney. Key to developing a sustainable health system, that improves the lives of the people and communities we serve, for generations to come, is an integrated, connected network of partners across our system. Having leaders work across our partner organizations adds value to the whole. I am grateful to Gay for stepping up and taking on this interim role, which will add so much to her experience and knowledge base, and ensure that our valued partners at Mt. Ascutney can have a seamless leadership transition.”

Landstrom begins her tenure at MAHHC on June 15 and will continue until a permanent CEO is named.
