Tradewind Aviation relaunches summer service to Vermont, throughout New England

Vermont Business Magazine Boutique airline Tradewind Aviation has announced increased service and new routes throughout New England this summer. The Oxford, Connecticut-based airline has launched a new direct route to Stowe and increased access and availability for their Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard routes, which were previously only available to their ticket book holders. Tradewind also flies in Vermont to Deerfield Valley Airport at Haystack Mountain.

"With demand growing, we are pleased to make regularly scheduled service from Westchester to Stowe available year-round, and increase access to our Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard routes on a convenient, one-off basis. Whatever the destination and motivation for travel, travelers will enjoy Tradewind's unparalleled level of service, convenience and comfort to these popular East Coast destinations," said Eric Zipkin, President of Tradewind Aviation. The enhanced seasonal availability of each route assures the comfort and convenience of a private charter for the cost of a single seat. All fares on Tradewind Aviation's eight-seat aircraft are unrestricted and can be interchanged among friends and family.

Specific details on summer travel are as follows:

  • Stowe, VT from Westchester, NY: Launched last winter as the first direct route to Stowe in over 30 years, the route intended to run only through the ski season has now been extended year-round due to popular demand. Originally debuted following the re-opening of Stowe's Morrisville-Stowe State Airport as part of a $27 million renovation program by Stowe Aviation, Tradewind's route remains the only direct flight to this wildly popular Vermont destination. Travelers visiting from the New York metro area typically must succumb to a commercial flight to Burlington, VT followed by a one-hour drive, so this direct one-hour flight gives travelers more time to enjoy to enjoy the beauty of the Green Mountain State. Summer flights depart from Westchester on Friday afternoons and from Stowe on Sunday afternoons. Rates start at $350 plus tax per one-way flight and $250 when purchased in a commuter ticket book.

  • Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, MA from Westchester, NY: Tradewind's routes to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, MA have been the "best kept secrets" in each destination since the airline launched the routes in 2002. Previously only available to travelers "in the know" who purchased bulk tickets books by contacting the airline's offices directly, this summer the routes will be more widely available to anyone interested in booking one-off seats over the phone or via Tradewind's website, FlyTradewind.com. Seasonal Nantucket service recommenced in late April for the Dafodil Weekend festival with flights departing on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays. Daily service will begin in mid-June and run through Labor Day weekend with continued weekend service available through early December. Rates range from $400 plus tax per one-way flight to $795 during prime times. Regular commuters benefit from significant discounts by purchasing in a commuter ticket book. Seasonal Martha's Vineyard service begins in May with flights departing from Westchester on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays through Thanksgiving week. Rates for Martha's Vineyard start at $545+ tax per one way flight when purchased as part of a 40 ticket commuter ticket book.

As with all Tradewind Aviation shuttle flights, the routes to Stowe, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard offer the luxury and ease of a private charter, with no TSA security checkpoints at the airport, private gate entrance, exclusive FBO lounges, complimentary on-board snacks, drinks and checked baggage rolled into the cost of a single seat.
