Environmental awards demonstrate GLOBALFOUNDRIES commitment to sustainability and also help employee engagement, as recent studies show that a company's environmental commitment is an element of employee retention and organizational pride.  In addition, awards which demonstrate our leadership in energy and the environment are and important key to our positive state and congressional government relations.

Process optimization in Chemical Mechanical Polish:  This project improved the overall environmental impact and efficiency of the Chemical Mechanical Polish (CMP) processing step. By optimizing the process, the team reduced the overall nitrate usage 1380 lb. per year; lowered slurry usage by 25,000 gallons per year, which reduced waste water treatment requirements; increased CMP consumable lifetimes; improved equipment productivity and reduced scrap.
