Vermont Retail & Grocers Association announces 2016 Board of Directors

Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Retail & Grocers Association, Vermont’s leading trade association solely representing the retail and grocery industries, announced today the election of Allison Weinhagen of City Market to the association’s Board of Directors and the re-election of Todd Keyworth of Harborside Harvest Market as Chairman of the Board and Marc Sherman of Stowe Mercantile as Vice-Chairman of Legislative Affairs.

Current directors Heather Tremblay of University Mall and John Dubie of Pearl Street Beverage will assume new roles as Vice-Chairwoman of Operations and Vice-Chairman of Membership, respectively. 

“As the association continues to evolve, it’s an honor to have a wide array of dedicated and established business leaders on the VRGA Board of Directors,” said Erin Sigrist, President-Elect of the Vermont Retail & Grocers Association. “I look forward to another year of building on the solid foundation that is VRGA. I have full faith that we will continue to be a force with such talented and committed leaders on our board.”

The following directors were re-elected to serve a three-year term on the board: Mike Altier of Walgreens, Andrew Brewer of Onion River Sports, Bob Diaco of Signarama, Mike Evans of Richmond Market, Richard Huestis of Huestis Farm Supply, Joe Kamuda of Kamuda’s Market, Ben Theriault of Hannaford, Mark Whitehead of Koffee Kup Bakery, and Tom McHugh of Capital Candy.

Directors that will continue their term on the board include: Eric Allen of Mac’s Market, Bob Bouchard of Bouchard-Pierce, Ray Bouffard of Georgia Market, Joe Cafarelli of HP Hood, Paul Greenan of Associated Grocers of New England, Pat Iannotti of Price Chopper, Christine Tattersall of Tattersall’s Clothing Emporium, Kim Crosby of Vermont Roots, Dwight LaFountain of Jiffy Mart, Jim O’Leary of Shaw’s, Bruce Macmillan of Cambridge Village Market, Paul Ralston of Vermont Coffee Company, and Tom Zapf of Macy’s. Brian Shedd of Best Buy has completed his term on the board but will continue to be active within the association.

The VRGA Board consists of 27 directors, including 5 officers, and is responsible for establishing long-term goals, monitoring general operations, approving the allocation of resources, and setting policy positions.

The Vermont Retail & Grocers Association represents approximately 800 Vermont retail stores and 250 suppliers to the industry, including members of the Vermont Specialty Food Association. VRGA is an association of merchants and trade partners united to promote the sustainable growth of the industry through the educational, economic and public policy needs of its members.
