Vermont Business Magazine The Humane Society of Chittenden County (HSCC) rehomes nearly 1,000 companion animals every year. The cost of adoption in no way pays for the sheltering and medical care of these animals. For this we rely on the generosity of the community and our business partners. Burlington Subaru and New England Subaru have long been generous sponsors of our adoption events. But this time they have done something that made us all smile! During the month of October we challenged our social media followers to share the love by posting a photo of your pet on social media with #SNELovesPets and Subaru of New England donated $5 per post to support 6 shelters around New England (one of them is HSCC)! Today New England Subaru is presenting a check for $10,000 to our mission!
“I am so proud to be here today at the Humane Society of Chittenden County on behalf of Subaru of New England to present a check for $10,000.00 dollars to support this wonderful organization. During the month of October 2016, Subaru of New England launched the second annual #SNE LovesPets campaign to raise funding and awareness for local shelters in the 6 states of New England. Today’s donation will go to support animal health, safety and happiness,” stated Ernie Boch Jr, President & CEO of Subaru of New England.
About the Humane Society of Chittenden County
HSCC is a private and independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization serving both Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties whose mission is to foster compassionate treatment of animals and to prevent animal suffering through: sheltering homeless & unwanted pets; timely efforts to place each animal in a responsible & caring home; animal cruelty investigation; feral cat colony management (TNR); and humane education. We receive no government funding, and are not affiliated with a national organization. HSCC relies almost entirely upon donations from individuals, corporations and foundations to meet the annual $860,000 cost of running our shelter.
