Vermont Business Magazine The Windjammer Hospitality Group held its 5th Annual Kickball Tournament to benefit Vermont Family Network on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Bayside Park in Colchester. Six teams competed in the tournament this year: Windjammer, Farrell Distributing, Oktoberfest, Mixed Company, The Kicking Dead, and Wayfarer. Mixed Company won the tournament and Oktoberfest was the runner up. A great BBQ was provided by the Windjammer and Zachary’s Pizza in South Burlington donated delicious pizza. There was a terrific raffle with concert tickets, Red Sox tickets, and many more sought-after prizes.
“On behalf of VFN, I want to thank the Windjammer leadership and staff for their exceptional support of our work with families of children with special needs across the state,” said Pam McCarthy, President/CEO of Vermont Family Network. “This annual kickball event is a unique and fun opportunity for participants to have a great time playing with friends and colleagues for a great cause. We are grateful beyond words for the contributions of the teams, the volunteers, and the sponsors!” Vermont Family Network is a state-wide non-profit organization that empowers and supports all Vermont families of children with special needs.

This was year 5 and one of the most successful turnouts ever, even in the rain.” The Windjammer Hospitality group, who organizes the event with 5 managers and great support from owners Laura and Tom O’Connell, hopes the event will continue to grow and become a significant annual fundraiser to support Vermont Family Network and the work the organization does to help children
with special needs across the state of Vermont.
