Lisman: On pace to secure Republican nomination for governor

Vermont Business Magazine Shawn Shouldice, campaign manager for Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Lisman, today issued the following statement in conjunction with general campaign developments.

“We are very enthusiastic about the momentum the Lisman for Vermont campaign has built with the support of hard-working Vermonters all across our great State. Bruce has traveled over 30,000 miles in the last nine months up and down and across Vermont.  He has met personally with nearly 7,000 hard-working Vermonters; listening to their concerns, hope and dreams. An example of the support Bruce is receiving can be found in this video from UVM student Casey Apps.

“We remain extremely optimistic about Tuesday’s primary election. Bruce, and the campaign overall, have received tremendous support from the tens of thousands of voters that we have met in person and spoken with by phone and at their doors.

“We are glad to see that Randy Brock and Phil Scott have reconciled from Phil’s proforma support of Peter Shumlin’s 2012 gubernatorial bid. Randy’s endorsement of Phil Scott is further evidence of politics as usual - the same politicians supporting the same politicians to protect the political establishment.

“Voters are telling Bruce and the campaign that they want more than Phil Scott is willing to deliver. While we had hoped Randy would remain neutral as he had promised us, we are confident we will have his full support after the primary election.”
